چکیده

Embedded systems envelopment are currently being challenged to provide global solutions that reconcile three conflicting agendas: enrichment/refinement of system functionalities, reduction of time-to-market and production costs, and compliance with nonfunctional requirements. Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) can help development master these complexities by both separating concerns and systematically automating the production, integration and validation process. This paper draws on the Accord|UML research project to illustrate the benefits of model-driven engineering for embedded real time systems development.

An Infrastructure for UML-Based Code Generation Tools

The use of Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) techniques in the domain of distributed embedded real-time systems are gain importance in order to cope with the increasing design complexity of such systems. This paper discusses an infrastructure created to build GenERTiCA, a flexible tool that supports a MDE approach, which uses aspect-oriented concepts to handle nonfunctional requirements from embed...

A harmony search-based approach for real-time volt & var control in distribution network by considering distributed generations units

In recent decade, development of telecommunications infrastructure has led to rapid exchange of data between the distribution network components and the control center in many developed countries. These changes, considering the numerous benefits of the Distributed Generators (DGs), have made more motivations for distribution companies to utilize these kinds of generators more than ever before. ...

A Platform-Independent Component QoS Modeling Language for Distributed Real-time and Embedded Systems

Distributed Real-time and embedded (DRE) systems require multiple, simultaneous quality of service (QoS) properties, such as predictability, reliability and security for their correct operation. With increasing focus on composing DRE systems from components, it becomes necessary for system designers to ensure that the system composition and its QoS configurations are functionally and systemical...

Real-time model-driven engineering: an overview

After a maturing period of over a decade, Model-Driven Engineering (Mde) starts to extend to novel areas that include safetycritical or embedded, but also cyberphysical systems. These domains explicitly manipulate time. This paper proposes three dimensions to analyse how Mde frameworks integrate time: which transformation paradigm is used, how time is represented inside it, and which characteri...

A MDE-Based Approach to the Safety Verification of Extended SysML Activity Diagram

Safety verification of real-time embedded systems is a complex and hot issue. This paper proposes a SysML/MARTE activity diagram (SMAD), which is extended from SysML activity diagram (SAD) with non-functional MARTE semantics, for the describing of the real-time embedded systems behaviors. To carry out the safety verification, we transform the SMAD into timed automata. The processes of the model...
